North American Workshop in Cladistic Methods

Currently scheduled lecturers include:
Dr. Pablo Goloboff (Instituto Miguel Lillo, Tucumán, Argentina ),
Dr. Kevin Nixon (Cornell University),
Dr. Dennis Pearl (Ohio State University),
Dr. John Wenzel (Ohio State University) and
Dr. Ward Wheeler (American Museum of Natural History).
Topics to be covered include the logic of the phylogenetic method, parsimony, maximum likelihood and Bayesian approaches, tree search strategies, measures of support, DNA alignment, morphological character coding, weighting, analysis of multiple and large data sets, consensus and character hypothesis testing. The software used for the course will be TNT, POY, NONA, WinClada, RaxML, MrBayes and Clustal.
