Este Septiembre el sitio web Filogenetica.org y este blog de noticias cumple tres años que esta en linea. En este periodo se han acumulado mas de 100, 000 visitantes! Desde este lado del teclado parece ser que el sitio esta funcionando como un espacio para difundir información sobre actividades, cursos, investigación, congresos, etc y promover el contacto entre nuestra comunidad filogenética. Pero realmente es asi?

En vista de los tres años en linea y del ritmo regular de unos 250 visitantes diarios a este sitio, ayudara mucho explorar que es lo que los lectores buscan. Mediante correo electrónico recibo frecuentemente solicitudes de ayuda. Las necesidades mas comunes son de  información sobre cursos, eventos, logros, etc y también los lectores de este blog solicitan se publiquen notas que divulguen conocimientos técnicos básicos sobre teoría y métodos filogenéticos.

Una manera mas abierta de examinar las expectativas de quienes visitan el sitio es preguntando directamente "Como usa este blog y el sitio Filogenetica.org? A todos se les invita a participar en esta encuesta.

The Research Councils are launching a new funding scheme for research in systematics and taxonomy. The Systematics and Taxonomy (SynTax) scheme is designed to provide short-term funding for preliminary research that will form the basis of novel responsive mode proposals with a substantial systematics/taxonomy component.

The scheme aims to stimulate high quality taxonomy and systematics-related research proposals to the UK’s Research Councils.

The scheme follows on from the Collaborative Systematics (CoSyst) scheme, through which a number of projects have gone on to receive responsive mode funding.

Programme

The launch event will provide details of the SynTax scheme and will showcase successful projects funded under its predecessor CoSyst.

Tea will be served in the library from 5.30pm and the lecture will be followed by a wine reception and poster session.
